Sherman & Hemstreet Leases Retail Space at Augusta Exchange

BenchMark Physical Therapy to Open Mid-December

Sherman & Hemstreet, a leading Augusta, GA based commercial real estate company, today announced the lease of space at the Augusta Exchange shopping center on Robert C. Daniel Parkway between Panera Bread and Mattress Firm. Sherman & Hemstreet procured a lease in just a few months after being hired. Previously, the space sat vacant for over 2 years.

In a complex orchestration of tenants, Joe Edge, President of Sherman & Hemstreet has arranged for the vacant space that Moviestop previously occupied to now be occupied by the Nail Salon currently next door and BenchMark Physical Therapy will move into the space being vacated by the Nail Salon.

Regarding the new BenchMark location, Joe Edge, President of Sherman & Hemstreet said, "This move by BenchMark is further evidence that there is a growing trend for medical users to locate in retail centers instead of in traditional office space. Retail centers provide exceptional name identification opportunities and provide more convenience for patients. In addition, online sales are leading more service based businesses to occupy traditional retail sales stores."

Sherman & Hemstreet's President Joe Edge represented both the tenant and landlord in this transaction. BenchMark is targeting a mid-December opening.
